Director Feike Santbergen made this beautiful film about a girl struggling with mental illness. The score needed to be heady and suck the viewer in completely.
Execution
We worked narrowly with the director on this briefing. While scoring the film, we always remembered the heart of the story: that mental illness is something that draws you in and completely takes over your head.
Result
‘The Black’ was widely received as a great short by Feike. It helped further his career, securing a prestigious fund for a feature film by the Dutch Film Fund.
